What Is Robotic Cystectomy?

Radical cystectomy is the standard surgical treatment for muscle-invasive bladder cancer. In addition to complete removal of the bladder, the prostate and seminal vesicles are removed in men, while the uterus and ovaries are removed in women. Pelvic lymph node dissection is also part of the procedure.

Prof. Dr. Orçun Çelik creates an orthotopic neobladder after robotic cystectomy, enabling patients to urinate naturally.
